RCA's Professional Certificate in Editing & Sound Design is a 20-week intensive programme designed to develop practical, industry-ready skills in film and television editing, with an emphasis on storytelling, technical workflow and real production experience.
Students learn how raw footage becomes a finished screen story through choices involving performance, structure, pacing, sound and image. Editing is not simply learning software — it is learning what to show, when to show it, how long to stay with it and how those decisions affect the audience.
This Professional Certificate programme is delivered by Revele Creative Academy and accredited by the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB). Students who successfully complete the programme receive a Professional Certificate bearing both RCA and AUCB.

Applying colour correction as part of the finishing process.

Organising footage, managing files and developing efficient editing practices.

Revisiting material and making different editorial choices to develop an individual creative voice.
Practice, Not Theory
Learn By Editing
This is a highly practical course.
Students don't learn editing by watching someone else operate software. They work with footage and make editorial decisions themselves.

From Raw Footage to Final Cut
Film analysis is integrated throughout the programme.

Edit Real Production Footage
Students work with footage generated through production and experience the responsibility of turning that material into a coherent finished piece.
Editors must understand story, recognise performance, make choices about structure and pacing, collaborate with directors and producers, organise large amounts of material and take responsibility for bringing the edit through successive stages towards completion.
