RCA's Professional Certificate in Art Direction is a 20-week intensive programme designed to develop practical, industry-ready skills in set design, set dressing, costume and visual storytelling for film and television through hands-on learning and real production experience.
Art Direction is about much more than making a film look attractive. Students learn how environments, objects, costume and visual choices contribute to the story audiences experience on screen.
This Professional Certificate programme is delivered by Revele Creative Academy and accredited by the African University of Communications and Business (AUCB). Students who successfully complete the programme receive a Professional Certificate bearing both RCA and AUCB.

This is a highly practical course.
Students don't simply discuss how a film should look. They develop concepts and then work through the practical challenge of turning those ideas into something that can exist in front of the camera.

Your Role on the 5-Minute Film
Students apply their Art Direction skills as part of RCA's 5-minute film project. Working under production conditions, Art Direction students experience the practical demands of preparing environments, sets, costume and visual continuity while collaborating with other departments.
